Elite Dangerous

This is the game I’ve been waiting for since I was 13 years old. Space combat, exploration, customizing your own ships and landing on distant planets in a 1:1 model of the Milky Way galaxy. I don’t think I’ll need to replace this game in my lifetime. 

That said it is not for everyone, and so, in lieu of a company advertisement for the game, I offer the most brutally honest review I could find, with thanks to UpIsNotJump for the absolutely hilarious review. I should say that since then their support for VR has waned because when they added FPS gameplay, it was no longer workable.
